Privacy

Last updated 20 October 2026. This notice describes what the service does with your information. We may update it; the current version is always on this page with its date. Questions and requests go to the support address.

Kept by the service

  • Your account: your Tamer name and display name, your email if you gave one, your password stored only as a hash, a device identity for each PC you link, and when the account was made.
  • Your saves: to carry one save across your devices, the play service keeps your latest game save, a snapshot of the game exactly as you left it (the emulator's save state, which includes the running game's memory), and its two previous versions, compressed.
  • Built from your discs: the premium line archives built from your Digimon World 2 disc. Each device builds the game itself from your own discs.
  • Your progression: the Tag, Crests, rank and XP, Legacy, contracts and chapters, titles, the collection, special Digimon and Mystery Data, standings and records.
  • The Server Funds ledger: every grant, spend, order and purchase, so that a refund reverses exactly what was bought.
  • Social: friends, requests, blocks and mutes; your look and title; what you chose to share. Reports you make and moderation actions, each with its reason. Chat is not saved, except so that a report can show what happened: the server keeps your last twenty lines in rooms and your last twelve in community chat (each new line replaces the oldest). A report about someone keeps their lines from the last two days and, from the same rooms, the reporter's too.
  • Operational logs: requests without their bodies, cookies or passwords. Network addresses are used to limit sign-ups and sign-in attempts and to block abuse.

Stays on your devices

  • Your disc images. On a phone or in a browser the disc is kept in that browser's own storage; on a PC it stays where you keep it. Disc images are never uploaded.
  • The game content built from your discs on a PC, and the PC's own copies of your saves.
  • The Windows download sends nothing beyond the game's own calls to the server: no telemetry.

Cookies

  • Only the cookies that keep you signed in: the website's session, the shared sign-in that lets the play page use your website account, and the play page's own session and resume cookies.
  • No advertising cookies and no tracking across sites. The website counts page visits and download clicks as plain totals, with no cookie and nothing that could tell who you are.

Who helps run it

  • DigitalOcean hosts the server, its database and the saves.
  • Cloudflare carries the site's traffic, protects it from floods and runs the sign-up check (Turnstile).
  • Stripe takes card payments when the store is open. Card details go to Stripe, never to us; we keep the order and Stripe's payment reference.
  • Resend delivers our emails: confirming an address and resetting a password.

Each handles data under its own privacy terms. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the service and its players.

We protect what we keep with reasonable measures (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, restricted access), but no system is perfectly secure.

How long

  • Account data is kept while the account exists.
  • A guest account not kept within 24 hours is deleted with its data.
  • Backups: a nightly copy of the database and a daily copy of the saves, each kept for 14 days, on the server and in a secured off-site copy.

Your choices

  • A copy: download everything the game server keeps about you on My Tag, Account.
  • Deletion: delete the account there. It removes the account and its records from the game server at once; its saves, content builds and line archives leave the play service within a day, and from then on nothing new is stored for it. Backup copies expire within 14 days. Copies on your own devices stay until you remove them.
  • Corrections and questions: write to support@dwonline.net. You may also have rights under the law where you live; we answer such requests.
  • Children: the service is not meant for anyone under 13. If a child under 13 has made an account, write to us and we delete it.
