Reporting a bug
Tell us what you were doing, roughly when it happened, and whether you were on Windows, a phone or a browser. A screenshot helps a lot.

We'll never ask for your password.
Installing
How do I start?
On a phone or in a browser, open play.dwonline.net and tap Play as a guest: you add your discs and start. On Windows, create an account and install DW Online. Get started walks you through both in a few steps.
Windows says it protected my PC.
That message (SmartScreen) appears for software Windows hasn't seen often yet. Every DW Online release is new, so it starts with no download history. It doesn't mean anything harmful was found. Choose More info and check the publisher reads Jeremy cabaccang, then choose Run anyway. To check the file first, right-click it, choose Properties, then Digital Signatures, or compare its fingerprint on Release details.
How do I update?
You don't need to. DW Online updates itself whenever there's a new version. In the browser, you always play the newest version.
Do I need administrator rights?
No. DW Online installs for your Windows user only. You need about 1 GB free while it installs, and about 400 MB afterwards.
How do I uninstall?
Open Windows Settings → Apps, find DW Online and choose Uninstall. Your save stays with your account, so it's waiting if you install again.
Your discs
Which disc do I need?
Your own Digimon World (USA), as a disc image: a .bin file and its .cue. and Digimon World 2 (USA) in the same format: DW Online needs both on every device, and the premium Digimon come from Digimon World 2. We don't provide disc images.
My disc image isn't accepted.
Choose the .cue file and keep its .bin in the same folder. Only the USA release works, and the image needs to be an unmodified copy. An .iso file won't work: make a new BIN/CUE copy of your disc instead (most disc-copying programs can). When a file isn't accepted, DW Online tells you why and changes nothing.
How do I make a disc image of my own disc?
You need your own Digimon World (USA) disc and a PC with a CD or DVD drive. Use a free disc-copying program that can save a disc as an image: look for "create image from disc" and choose the BIN/CUE format. It takes a few minutes and gives you a .bin file and a .cue file. We never provide game files, downloading a disc image you don't own isn't allowed, and DW Online can't be played without your own disc.
Do I need Digimon World 2?
Yes. Setup on Windows and the browser both ask for your Digimon World 2 disc as well as Digimon World. Already installed without it? Run DW Online Setup again and add it. Your save is kept.
How do discs work on a phone?
The first time you play on a phone or tablet, choose your disc files from the device. It keeps them, so you only do this once per device. Already have them on your PC? Get it from my PC on the play page sends them over with a short code.
Your account
How do I sign in on Windows?
Press Play and choose Sign in with dwonline.net. Your browser opens; sign in if it asks, enter the code DW Online shows and choose Connect this PC. If it times out, start again from DW Online.
Is my save the same on every device?
Yes. Your account keeps one save. Any device you play on picks up the latest one, and Save and leave on Windows or Save and quit on a phone sends it back. The newest save wins.
I didn't get the confirmation email.
Check your spam folder, then send a new link from My Tag. Links last a day. Until you confirm, you can play and use this site, but you can't buy Server Funds.
I forgot my password.
Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. The link lasts an hour. Accounts without an email can't be reset, so add one on My Tag → Account while you can still sign in.
Can I download my data or delete my account?
Yes, both on My Tag → Account. The privacy notice explains what we keep and for how long.
Playing
Do I have to pay?
No. Everything in the game can be earned by playing, including the Server Funds anything in the store costs. Buying Server Funds is optional and helps pay for the servers.
How do I get Mystery Data, and where do I hatch it?
Your first Mystery Data is free from Weedmon in Jijimon's house. More come from a 2% weekly drop on alphas and bosses, or cost 2,000 Server Funds. Hatch it with Weedmon in Jijimon's house. On Windows, choose the line first in DW Online's Settings, under Mystery Data line. Each one hatches a premium Digimon for one life, and the lines need your Digimon World 2 disc. If a hatch is interrupted, you get the Mystery Data back.
My premium Digimon won't play.
Premium Digimon live online, so you need a connection to play one. If it drops, the game pauses until you're back.
I can't see another player's premium partner.
The game draws a few other partners at a time, premium ones first, and the very largest only when the town has room for them. Walk closer, or meet in a quieter spot. You always see the player's Tamer and its gold nameplate.
Why can't I see the mountain's shadow yet?
Rival sparring, parties and News are open from the start. The mountain's shadow opens after your first Crest.
How do I report a player?
In the game, click their name in chat (or pick them in Social → Nearby), choose Report and a reason; you can add a few words. Pick Safety worry if someone asks for your personal details, asks you to talk somewhere else, or talks about hurting someone: those reports go to the top of the moderators' list. On the website, go to My Tag → Social and choose Report a player. A report brings along their last lines in rooms and in community chat (up to twenty in rooms and twelve in community chat, from the last two days), so you don't need to copy anything; add a few words for anything older. The player is never told who reported them. To stop seeing someone right away, mute or block them too.
Why did my message come out with stars, or not at all?
Chat masks rude words and hides links, email addresses, phone numbers and the names of other chat apps. Messages also wait a moment between sends, and the same message twice in a row is skipped. If a moderator paused your chat, the game tells you for how long; you can still play while it lasts. Guests can read chat, and write once they add an email or a password to their account. A brand-new account made without the website waits a day before writing.
About DW Online
For parents
DW Online is for players 13 and up; creating an account or playing as a guest asks. It's free to play. Server Funds are optional, bought by card through Stripe, which needs an email address, and nothing you can buy is random. Players can report, mute and block anyone from the game or the website, and volunteer moderators review every report; they can pause a player's chat, reset a name, remove someone from a room or ban them. Chat masks rude words and hides links, email addresses, phone numbers and the names of other chat apps, and names that are offensive or pretend to be staff are refused. There are no private messages. Friends (a request must be accepted, and the game reminds players to accept only people they know) can invite each other into a private room for two, and a room a player lists can only be found and joined by their friends; blocking, muting and reporting work the same way there. Reports carry the reported player's last lines from the last two days. Guests can report too. Reports marked "Safety worry" go to the top of the moderators' list, and moderators write to the person who runs the game about serious ones. Chat is not saved: only a player's last few lines go along with a report, so moderators can see what happened. Guests can read chat but can't write in it. An account can be deleted at any time from My Tag. Questions: support@dwonline.net.
DW Online plays the original Digimon World from your own disc, with File City connected: other Tamers around you, contracts and chapters from Leomon at the Guild, and the Dark Masters waiting on Spiral Mountain. Raising, battles and items work just as you remember.
A fan project made by players. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandai Namco Entertainment or Toei Animation. Digimon and Digimon World are trademarks of their owners. We don't distribute the game or its files: you play with your own disc. The trailer and pictures on this site show the game as it plays here.
